Pics 1-8 - The Asian Paper Wasp (Polistes chinensis) is one of 3 Paper Wasp species in NZ. .

Pics 9-11 - The Huhu Beetle (Prionophus reticularis) , Family Cerambycidae . This insect is endemic to NZ and is it's heaviest Beetle .

Pic 12 - Another pest Introduced into NZ , living very dangerously near that Tunnelweb Spiders web .

Pics 13 & 14 - A couple of unidentified Ground Spiders .

Pics 15 & 16 - Just a couple of shots of the common old NZ Blue Bottle Fly .

Pics 17 , 18 , 19 The New Zealand Red Admiral ( Vanessa gonerilla) is endemic to NZ , it's Maori name is kahukura which means "red cloak".I couldn't get a photo of one as they are too fast ( i borrowed this one ) , their Caterpillars live on the NZ Tree Nettle (Urtica ferox) , their numbers are declining as this noxious weed is sprayed heavily these days and a couple of parasitic wasps have found their way to NZ .
