I was in the "Land of the Long White Cloud" for a couple of weeks and took some shots of a few critters i come across in my travels . It's still quite cool over there as well , so there wasn't a lot moving about .
Pics 1-5 - NZ has 28 species of Native Bees , these are just examples of some of the 13 Introduced species
Pics 6-12 - NZ also has Bumblebees , these are examples of Buff Tailed Bumblebees .
Pics 13 & 14 - This is a large Crane Fly that i found dead on the floor , it is 40mm from head to tail , legs a lot longer than that .
Pic 15 - This is a Steel Blue Ladybird , it is an Australian species Introduced into NZ , they were not very common when i was a kid but they are quite prolific now . I last caught one of these in about 1979 .
