When you use the 'NEW TOPIC' button at the top of the main page, make sure you select the correct category where your post should go from the Drop Down Menu. Otherwise ALL New Topics end up in the TAXONOMY Section.
Pics #1 & 2 - Went outside this morning and flicked a Blowfly off the backdoor jamb into a small Black House Spider web , it was punching above it's weight but it overpowered it and dragged it into it's lair .
Pic #3 - One week on and there's very little evidence of the massive battle that took place .
Pics # 4-6 - Spotted this nice Dragonfly on the back wall at home this afternoon (29/11/22)

Pic #8 - we've got a visitor in the house at the moment , he can stay as long as he stays up high near the cornice , when they start hanging around the light switches in the dark they tend to get ejected outside ( not good for an old mans heart ) 11/12/22 .
Pic #9 - Snapped this shot down the backyard this morning , it's a Long Nosed Lycid Beetle ... Porrostoma rhipidium (11/12/22) .

Pic #12 - My Brother 'n Law found this Fiddler Beetle in his backyard in Sunbury but it's unfortunately missing it's head , still , nice colors on the outer wings .

Pics # 15 - 17 - Meadow Katydid - Conocephalus sp , swept a few of these out of the brush today , also called "coneheads" (18/12/22)
Pics # 18 & 19 - Swept this little Spider up today , they weren't uncommon in the bushes i was sweeping with my net (18/12/22) . Looks like it's a member of the Arkyidae family .

Pics # 23 & 24 - These are Soldier Beetles ( Chauliognathus lugubris ) , they also known as Plague Soldier Beetles which is understandable as they were covering any flowing gums down at Emu Bottom when i was there .

Pics # 26 & 27 - Bit off topic i know but while we were at Kangaroo Flat i noticed this nice little nest , probably a Willy Wagtail or something similar and my Son bumped into a nice Stumpy Tailed Lizard ( it wasn't keen on the photo graphic session though) 29/12/22
