These weevils (Zelapterus terricola ) are not seen very often due to the fact they live in thick NZ bush and are only 3 - 4 mm in size . I was lucky enough to find 2 of them near Rotorua in the central North Island on a holiday in 1979 . I brought them to Australia with me in 1987 . I didn't know what they were until Bert identified them for me . There is very little info on them online and they aren't in any of my books, they don't even have a common name .
