Bert kindly helped me select a microscope rig for my invertebrate work, and it is already proving to be a big help when examining some of the new tiny specimens that I have collected in my local native grassland. I must also thank my parents and one of my very good friends for helping me fund this.
New setup includes; Vevor 3.5X to 90X trinocular stereo microscope with pillar stand,
a dual 6W gooseneck light,
and a 2K 38MP V8 1080P 60FPS HD HDMI USB Industrial Lab Microscope C-Mount Camera Lens.
I'm still waiting on a ring light to arrive; which is partially why one of these stacked shots is just a trifle darker than I'd like, but overall it seems to be coping well enough without that piece of equipment for the moment.
Photo number one is of a lovely Homalictus bee, 4mm long. Photo number two is this totally weird Hemipteran which could be an ant mimic, less than 3mm and photo number three; a tiny <3mm wasp that looks like he or she has never considered skipping wing day.
