The Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University (TAMU) is excited to announce an opening for Assistant Curator of the TAMU Insect Collection (TAMUIC). TAMUIC is one of the top university insect collections in the United States, containing more than 3.5 million curated specimens from Texas, the American South, and northern Mexico. The Assistant Curator plays a critical role in the day-to-day management of the collection by curating incoming material, processing loans, and digitizing the collection. The Assistant Curator also recruits and trains undergraduate curatorial assistants, maintains the departmental arthropod identification service, and promotes growth of the collection through acquisition of material and development of the relationships with professional and amateur arthropod systematists. Interest applicants should provide a resume/CV, a statement of interest, and three professional references with email and daytime phone numbers.
