Arachnology/Entomology Technician was created by National Institute of Entomology

The Entomology Department at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is hiring an Arachnology/Entomology Technician to work in a CIB funded project about California Spiders Barcoding. This is a one year, full-time position.

The Technician will support the creation of a DNA barcode reference library, will provide help on sorting samples and identification of spiders, databasing, digitization of specimens and assist with DNA extraction and sequencing. Occasionally will contribute to the acquisition of fresh material through field work across multiple locations in California. This position will function as part of a team that includes volunteers, postdoc, and museum curatorial staff.
