Role Details:
‘The Collection Manager, Biological Sciences Terrestrial Invertebrates, is responsible for the collection, preparation, identification, incorporation, loan, scientific study, and interpretation of specimens in the South Australian Museum’s Biological Collections, with particular responsibility for the Terrestrial Invertebrate Collection, and for facilitating public and research access to these collections.’

Key Selection Criteria:
• Sound knowledge of terrestrial invertebrate taxonomy (particularly non-crustacean arthropods) and use of identification aids relevant to the South Australian Museum’s collections.
• Sound knowledge of museum curatorial and collection management practices, with terrestrial invertebrate specimen-based collection management practices.
• Sound experience with managing terrestrial invertebrate collection items, data, and research material in a rational, contemporary, accurate and helpful manner.
• Demonstrated ability to organise high volumes of work, identify objectives and plan activities to deliver agreed outcomes.
• Proven ability to work as an effective member of a team, including delivering own work requirements, collaborating with, directing, and supporting others, and contributing to team and broader organisation outcomes
• Experience with digitisation strategies and practices in a museum context.
• Sound knowledge of, and experience with, relational databases, digitisation, and web resources.
• Experience with project management.
